BENINGTON PARISH COUNCIL
MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT THE BEONNA ON MONDAY 7th February 2022 at 7.00 pm

1 CO-OPTION OF A FURTHER COUNCILLOR
1.1 It was noted that no request for an election had been received by Boston Borough Council, and therefore the vacancy had been advertised.
Councillor Pinner proposed, Councillor Gostelow seconded, and it was agreed that Barry A Holland be co-opted. Councillor Holland, therefore, completed and signed the official paperwork.
1.2 It was unanimously agreed that a letter of thanks and appreciation should be sent to Neil Sharpe for his many years of service.
2 APOLOGIES
1.1 An apology was received from Councillor J Grant.
3 MINUTES
3.1 The minutes of the parish council meeting held on the 10th January 2022 having been previously circulated were approved and signed by the Chairman.
4 MATTERS ARISING
4.1 It was noted that the grass at the side of the footpath between the church and Bede Crescent was still an issue. This had been reported on several occasions and again noted by Councillor Skinner.
4.2 The signage at the top of Hall Lane was still ongoing.
4.3 The overgrown hedge near the Church was still an issue which Councillor Pinner was dealing with.
4.4 Village Magazine - It was noted that no further copies had been produced at present.
5 NO DECLATIONS OF INTEREST
6 PLANNING
6.1 B/21/0442 - The application for the proposed change of use from village hall to residential dwelling at Village Hall, David’s Lane for Miss R Grant had been granted, noting several conditions.
7 PARISH MATTERS
7.1 Highways - The Pot Hole on the corner of Hall Lane and the Playing Field had been reported. It was agreed to leave the position of a Highways Representative for the Council until the next meeting.
7.2 Councillor Grant Scheme - Councillor Pinner updated the council on the application, he had made regarding upgrading the entrance to the playing field, and improvements to the Bramble Patch, which had now been accepted, and the £1000 received. Thanks were recorded to Councillor Bedford for his help in this matter. Quotations and enquiries were still ongoing, left with Councillors Bell and Pinner.
8 CORRESPONDENCE
Numerous emails including those from LALC, Lincolnshire County Council and the Police had been forwarded to all councillors.
9 FINANCE
9.1 The clerk stated that following the previous meeting, a quotation for the grass cutting had been received from T A Blackamore, which was being kept at the same figure as the previous year, plus one additional cut of the churchyard.
9.2 The clerk stated that she had submitted a VAT claim of £2160.12.
9.3 The clerk presented the up-to-date accounts and evidence of the bank balance together with the precept spending to date. It was noted that a further account for grass cutting during the 2021 season had now been paid, with the £1000 Councillor Grant received.
9.4 The following payments were agreed.

10 NEXT MEETING
The next meeting was arranged for 7th March 2022, at 7.00 pm at the Beonna.
11 ANY FURTHER BUSINESS
11.1 It was noted that the Street Light (No.5) in David’s Lane was not working. The Clerk would report this to Boston Borough Council.
11.2 Councillor Pinner reported that the Centre Manager at The Beonna had now left, and the vacancy was being advertised. No new events at present were being booked.
There being no further business the Chairman thanked those in attendance and closed the meeting at 7.30pm
