BENINGTON PARISH COUNCIL

MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT THE BEONNA ON MONDAY 20th September 2021 at 7.00 pm

1   APOLOGIES were received from Parish Councillor N Sharpe, Boston Borough Councillors P Bedford and J Welbourn and the Police.
 
2        POLICE REPORT

PSCO K Rayment had reported on one road traffic collision on Lowfields Road.

3   MINUTES

3.1   The minutes of the parish council meeting held on the 9th August 2021 having been previously circulated were approved and signed by the Chairman.

4   NO MATTERS ARISING

5   NO DECLATIONS OF INTEREST

6   NO PLANNING 
   
7   PARISH MATTERS

7.1   Highways  -  It was noted that the grass at the side of the footpath between the church and Bede Crescent was very overgrown, this had been reported but no action taken.  Councillor Grant agreed to investigate it.

Mention was made of a pothole on Hall Lane, near the Playing Field, Councillor Pinner stated he would report this.

7.2   Bus Shelter  -  Councillor Grant stated that he had been in touch with Dickinson’s, and it was hoped that work would begin in about 3 weeks.

7.3   Brown Bin  -  The Clerk reported that this had now been ordered and paid for, and delivery was expected shortly.

8   CORRESPONDENCE

8.1   Numerous emails including those from LALC, had been forwarded to all councillors. 

8.2   Clerks & Councils Direct  -  The September edition was handed to Councillor Pinner.

8.3   Boston Borough Council  -  Platinum Jubilee -  It was agreed that Benington would not be taking part in the lighting of a beacon.  It was noted that The Beonna would most likely be arranging an event for the Jubilee.

8.4   Councillor Grant Scheme  -  Councillor Pinner was still dealing with this.

9   FINANCE

9.1   The clerk presented the up-to-date accounts and evidence of the bank balance together with the precept spending to date.

The account had now been received and whilst it was more than the original quote from several years ago, it was agreed that this should be paid.

9.3   External Audit  -  The Clerk stated that the External Auditors, had received and logged the notification of exempt status for the year ended 31 March 2021.

10   NEXT MEETING

The next meeting was arranged for 11th October 2021, at 7.00 pm at the Beonna.

11   ANY FURTHER BUSINESS

11.1   Mention was made concerning the Playing Field dog fouling, fly tipping and a litter bin (not the lid) which had gone missing.

11.2   Councillor Pinner reported that he had received notification that Benington Football Club had ceased and therefore would not be using the Playing Field.  The question of the cabin and the electricity supply were noted, and Councillor Pinner agreed to make enquiries if in the future there is a financial cost for removal.

There being no further business the Chairman thanked those in attendance and closed the meeting at 7.50pm
