MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT THE BEONNA ON MONDAY 24th FEBRUARY 2025 at 7.00 pm.

The Chairman opened the meeting by thanking all to allow for the change in date, and tributes were paid to Councillor B Holland who had recently died.
 
1.1 APOLOGIES were received from Parish Councillor G Gostelow and Boston Borough Councillor P Bedford.
 
1.2 VACANCY  -  The Clerk stated she would contact Boston Borough Council of the vacancy.
 
2 MINUTES
The minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on the 13th January 2025 having been previously circulated were approved and signed by the Chairman.
 
3 MATTERS ARISING
3.1 Litter Bin  -  The reply received from Councillor Broughton noted, the temporary pause in requests.  No action at present.

6 PARISH MATTERS
6.1 Highways  -  Councillor Grant stated that he had the reported the condition of Lowfields Lane, following comments received from a parishioner.  It was noted that the path (owing to a tree root) on the corner of Davids Lane and the A52 had been attended to, but made worse; to be reported again.
 
6.2 Playing Field  -  Councillor Pinner reported that the dyke and the grass next to the Bramble Patch had now been cut.
 
6.21 Play Equipment Fencing  - It was noted that a quotation had been requested.
 
6.22 Playing Field Usage  -  Further communication had been made with the British School of Sport and the use of the portacabin were discussed.  It was agreed that the School of Sport take full responsibility for the use.
 
It was also reported that the gate had been rammed and broken, with vehicle marks on the field, this had been reported to the Police, but no further action was forthcoming.  The gate had now been repaired.
 
6.3 Moles  -  The Chairman reported that several mole hills had been reported on the playing field and in the churchyard.  After discussion it was agreed that a one-off payment of £640 + VAT be made, and would be considered again after about three months, so see if the one year contract of £1,920 + VAT would be the better option.
 
6.4 Parish Liaison Meeting  -  Councillor Pinner stated that he hoped to attend the next meeting on the 26th February.
 
6.5 Clean-up  -  It was agreed to hold the next Clean-Up on Sunday, 6th April, in conjunction with the Big Boston date.  The Clerk to arrange posters, 9.30 am  -  11.30  am, meeting at The Beonna.
 
6.6 Village Sign  -  Councillor Grant reported on the slow response from Lincolnshire County Council, they had been given here further sites, but Councillor Skinner stated they were now waiting for the Lincs Road Safety Partnership for comments.
 
6.7 Outer Dowsing  -  Details of a further meeting, at Butterwick Village Hall, on Monday, 24th March, had been sent to Councillor Grant.
 
7 CORRESPONDENCE
7.1 Numerous emails including those from Boston Borough Council, Lincolnshire County Council  and LALC, had been forwarded to all councillors.  
 
8 FINANCE
8.1 The clerk presented the up-to-date accounts, and the precept spending to date.

9.1 The next meeting was arranged for 24th March 2025, at the Beonna at 7.00 pm.
 
 
There being no further business the Chairman thanked those in attendance and closed the meeting at 8.10 pm,
