MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT THE BEONNA ON MONDAY 14th JULY 2025 at 7.20 pm.

1 APOLOGIES were received from Benington Councillor R Bell and Boston Borough Councillors P Bedford and D Broughton.
It was noted that no apology had been received from Lincolnshire County Councillor A Arundell, and with no attendance since his May election.
2 MINUTES
The minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on the 9th June 2025 having been previously circulated were approved and signed by the Chairman.
3 MATTERS ARISING
Overhanging Trees - These had now been dealt with by the Chairman.
4 NO DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST
5 PLANNING
5.1 B/25/0290 - It was noted that an exemption application had been received from National grid for the re-location of 2 High Voltage electricity poles and overhead line on Butterwick Road, Benington.
6 PARISH MATTERS
6.1 Highways - The height of an overgrown hedge on West End Road was mentioned. Councillor Pinner stated he would contact Lincolnshire Highways for their advice.
6.21 Playing Field - Councillor Fenwick reported on the dog poo situation, and it was agreed to make enquiries regarding an extra bin.
6.22 Play Equipment Fencing - Nothing further reported.
6.23 Playing Field Usage - Nothing yet had started.
6.31 Village Sign - Councillor Grant stated that unfortunately the work had not started, but hopefully it would shortly.
6.32 Bus Shelter - Councillor Grant stated he had contacted Terry Brown regarding having a bus shelter the opposite of the road, but he felt it was not beneficial on his property.
6.4 WW2 Lancaster Crash - Councillor Pinner and the Clerk had attended the Memorial Service on the 13th June 2025, which had paid tribute to those killed. Approximately 50 people had attended, including relatives, and RAF personnel. The report and photos had been added to the Barnes Collection.
6.5 Parish Liaison Meeting - Councillor Pinner stated he had sent his apologies, as he was unable to attend. No report had been received to date.
6.6 Standing Orders - The amended orders as detailed last month had been sent to all councillors and Councillor Pinner proposed, Councillor seconded, and it was unanimously agreed that these be adopted. They would now appear on the website.
7 CORRESPONDENCE
7.1 Numerous emails including those from Boston Borough Council, Lincolnshire County Council and LALC, had been forwarded to all councillors.
7.2 The July edition of the Clerks and Councils Direct was handed to the Chairman.
8 FINANCE
8.1 The clerk presented the up-to-date accounts and the precept spending to date. It was noted that £500 had been paid to The Beonna, as agreed for equipment re the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, under the Councillor Grant Scheme.
8.2 The following payments were authorised accordingly.

9 NEXT MEETING
The next meeting was arranged for 18th August 2025, at The Beonna, commencing at 7.00 pm.
There being no further business the Chairman thanked those in attendance and closed the meeting at 7.40 pm.
