MINUTES OF THE PARISH COUNCIL MEETING HELD AT THE BEONNA ON MONDAY 18th AUGUST 2025 at 7.00 pm.

1 APOLOGIES were received from Boston Borough Councillor D Broughton.
 
2 MINUTES
The minutes of the Parish Council Meeting held on the 14th July 2025 having been previously circulated were approved and signed by the Chairman.
 
3 MATTERS ARISING
3.1 Parish Liaison Meeting  -  It was noted that the minutes had been received the day after the last meeting, the next meeting being on the 23rd October 2025.
 
3.2 Overgrown Hedge  -  The height of the hedge was mentioned again, together with the junction.
 
3.3 Senior Event  -  Noted that the Beonna would host an event.  Date to be arranged by an independent group.
 
4 NO DECLARATIONS OF INTEREST 
 
5 PLANNING
5.1 B/25/0290  -  It was noted that no objections had been received regarding the exemption application from National grid for the re-location of 2 High Voltage electricity poles and overhead line on Butterwick Road, Benington. 
 
6 PARISH MATTERS
6.1 Highways  -  It was stated that several potholes had been repaired.  The chevron on the West End bend had again been broken and this had been reported.
 
Notification had been received that Anglian Water would be doing a water main repair of Lowfields Lane at the end of the month.
 
6.21 Playing Field  -  Litter/Dog Bins  -  A new policy had been received from Boston Borough Council which had been forwarded to all councillors, which showed that an assessment form would need to be completed for each application.  Mention was made that two bins (one dog, one general) are next to each other on the playing field, and whether the dog one could be moved to the other entrance.  Councillor Bedford stated he would make enquiries.
 
Damage had been dealt with on the Portacabin, and poles had been inserted at the entrance to stop vehicles.  Councillor Pinner stated that the account would be approximately £200/£300 and it was agreed to pay the invoice on receipt.
 
6.22 Play Equipment Fencing  - Councillor Grant stated he would make enquiries, and obtain a cost, comparing the fencing at both Butterwick and Old Leake.
 
6.23 Playing Field Usage  -  Councillor Pinner stated that  British School of Sport were making preparations to mark the pitch.
 
6.31 Village Sign  -   Councillor Grant stated that the sign had now been installed, and subject to being checked over, it was agreed that upon receipt the account would be paid.
 
6.4 Village Magazine  -  A small group had been set up to produce a magazine for the parishes of Freiston, Butterwick, Benington and Leverton and hoped that the Parish Council would financially support it.  It was agreed that £200 be contributed and several questions would be raised.
 
7 CORRESPONDENCE
7.1 Numerous emails including those from Boston Borough Council, Lincolnshire County Council and LALC, had been forwarded to all councillors. 
 
8 FINANCE
8.1 The external auditors of PKF Littlejohn had logged the notification of the exempt status submitted for the financial year 2024/2025.
 
8.2 The clerk presented the up-to-date accounts. 
 
8.2 The following payments were authorised accordingly.

9 NEXT MEETING
The next meeting was arranged for 20th October 2025, at The Beonna, commencing at      7.00 pm.
 
 
There being no further business the Chairman thanked those in attendance and closed the meeting at 7.40 pm.
